Adopt a stronger farm to school presence in APS.

Farm to school programs increase the amount of and preference for fresh fruits and vegetables among children, emphasize nutrition education based on whole foods, and help kids develop an understanding of where food comes from. In 2009 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified farm to school programs as an effective mechanism to improve the quality of school meals, enhance effectiveness of nutrition education, and provide opportunities for experiential learning through food and agriculture.

There has be a large increase of children with Type 2 Diabetes. School lunches should be more healthty instead of contributing to disease. Give the children a chance to not only have a meal, but let it be a healthy meal. They will be more alert.A child who is more alert is more productive and able to learn better.
