Steve Jobs must be turning in his grave.
This was a man who has defined and shaped communication throughout my working lifetime. He was a visionary who took care of the details. A creative dynamo who understood the importance of design, the impact on vision, the shape and form of things both on screen and off. He changed the world with his intuitive icons, with his visual perception and acuity - he made our online world 3D and multicoloured when the alternatives were flat, black, grey and white.
All his work has been undone at a stroke with the release of iOS 7 - a flat, grey, boring, visually sickening operating system that so many people hate.
Bug riddled and bland, it may be technologically advanced but it has taken computing back to the dark ages of the 1980's in terms of visual attractiveness and design. It looks like the tech heads got to play with the design as well as the functionality - always a huge mistake.
Take it away, Apple, or you will lose the market share you have worked so hard to own. For 27 years I've been a Mac user and I can never buy a new Mac product again if iOS 7 stays . . . it's too ugly, it makes me feel sick. I know I'm not alone.
Make Apple listen to its customers - we have people power, purchasing power and the power of the media to get rid of something Steve would have hated and restore our iphones, ipads, macbooks and imacs to something we can love again . . .
