Save the Silver Fork restaurant

This is a community center more than a restaurant. It's where generations of folks have come for good, down-home, cookin', conversation, and the chance to just be. Now it's being thrown out of its location so that Safeway can put in a gas station. Community gathering places are few enough and far between. We can't let this one go down. Let Safeway know that all of Seattle values this treasure and you will join a boycott all of their stores if the Silver Fork is closed.

Hope some of you saw the article in yesterday's Seattle times (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2018941816_silverfork18m.html). If Ms. Johnson and the family decide to close the Silver Fork for their own reasons, this petition will serve as a giant "Thank You" card to them. If they want to keep it open (there or in another location) this petition lets them know there's plenty of support for them. So please continue to send it around.

We've reached over 100 signers in less than 24 hours. That speaks to how important the Silver Fork is. For those of you not familiar with the Silver Fork, imagine Beth's Cafe being replaced by a gas station. Safeway and the landowners (Banchero 7 LLC) need to know how their decision to evict the Silver Fork impacts the wider community. This petition will give them some idea. Thank you.

I'VE DONE LUNCH THEREWHILE WORKING FOR THE STATE AND MET WITH BUSINESS ASSOCIATES ASWELL. THIS IS A PLACE WHERE THE COMMUNITY GATHERS KNOWING THAT YOU WILL SEE YOUR FRIENDS OR ASSOCIATES. THE SILVER FORK HAS BECOME AN IMPORTANT COMMUNITY BASE. IT WOULD BE MOST DEVASTATING TO LOSE IT.

this restaurant is a huge part of a community. safeway has to be shown it can't bully small businesses or communities like this.

This has been a family establishment for so long. This is our go to diner when we need some amazing grits and turkey sausage. We bring all our friends and family members here when we know they need a good meal. All the staff is friendly and I love those sunday mornings when gospel music is playing in the background
