I was driving through rush hour traffic. I noticed something tumbling in the road. It was a kitten. I was going to slam on the brakes to save it. Then a car hit it. This happened over and over again. Someone, a few cars ahead of me, was throwing baby kittens out of a car window in morning rush hour traffic. One after another, I had to watch these animals die. I could not get the license plate number. I checked the news to see if by chance a person had been caught. There was nothing. But, I was saddened to read that this same thing had happened 3 weeks ago.
How can people be this cruel? If this is what people do to animals, then what hope do we have for ourselves as a society?
I have been having flashbacks all week. I see these kittens getting hit over and over again. I cringe. I cry. I am angry.
After speaking with the SPCA, this petition is the only justice these kittens will receive. With your help, their death will no longer be meaningless. I have to make my stand. Will you stand up with me?
Will you pledge to write down the license plate of anyone who tosses animals on the roadway? Will you report people who drive down the road with animals loose in the bed of pickup trucks and purposefully swerve to make the animal fall out? Will you report animal abuse when you see it?
Will you fight for animals like the kittens or Justice, the Pitt Bull? Will you teach your children that animals should be treated with kindness? Will you help educate people as to what to do with unwanted animals? Will you help to educate people that spaying and neutering animals in certain circumstances is the right thing to do?
Protecting animals starts with you. You can report animal abuse to your police department or your local SPCA chapter. Sign this petition if you pledge to report animal abuse.
The cat in this picture is 6-year-old Baby Kitten aka Baby Meow Meow. His best friend is an 85-pound Rottweiler Mix, named Gilda. He thinks he is half human and half dog. He enjoys climbing trees, sleeping in awkward yet cute positions, and playing with his best friend. His favorite foods are chicken and broccoli. His favorite toy is a green beanie lizard, which he skillfully tosses in the air.
