Cornwall's brilliant music service has benefited hundreds of young musicians over the years and has employed brilliant teachers in our schools to provide regular high quality lessons to students who otherwise might not have been able to afford to nurture their talents. Without the music service and subsidised lessons many of my peers and I wouldn't have gone on to pursue and enjoy the music we do today. The unity of the Music Service has created many brilliant ensembles that have been excellent platforms for young people to further enhance their musical careers.  Do not deny talented young players the opportunities they need to be the brilliant musicians of the future!

I grew up in North Cornwall and was a lucky recipent of the music service for most of my life via woodwind lessons and involvement in county and local wind orchestras. I only hope others can benefit form rich experiences. Our music teachers and service are amazing. Please let them keep on working for the good of us all.

I thank them.

Music is not an optional 'extra', it is an essential part of any true education.

I work in the music industry and fear it is becoming the preserve of only the wealthy. I also fear that due to cutbacks young people are being denied access to the arts which help develop a healthy balanced attitude to and positive escape from life when needed.
