Just Say No to adding Jenny McCarthy to The View

    1. Petition by

      Voices for Vaccines

Jenny McCarthy has long been the celebrity spokeswoman for the long-debunked and dangerous theory that vaccines cause autism.

Because Jenny McCarthy constitutes a danger to public health and promotes long-disproven ideas, we urge ABC and the producers at The View to consider a different candidate. Giving Jenny McCarthy a regular, large platform is irresponsible, but turning her away would demonstrate that ABC is a science-savvy company that cares about the health and well-being of our communities and our children.

Thank you to all those who have signed. The sooner this petition is complete, the sooner the producers of The View will understand that Jenny McCarthy's views, while controversial and tantalizing, represent a danger to public health and to autistic people.

People have forgotten the horrors of a society where children aren't all vaccinated against various diseases. Ask someone who remembers when these illnesses were common. Vaccines are basically the most important element in public health with the exception of soap and sewers.

As a Clinical Microbiologist, I must state my deep disappointment that Jenny McCarthy is being considered for such a high profile show. Unless The View is going into this with the intention of seriously debating the issue on the show with a newly positioned host, I find the elevation of a person with such outspoken and frankly, dangerous views, irresponsible. Please reconsider. Thank you.

It is irresponsible to promote a person that has been responsible for harming the health of children
