The QWWS is a not-for-profit community organization that has been operating since 1994. QWWS has historically been funded by both the Commonwealth and Queensland governments.
One of QWWS's primary objectives is to provide accessible services that support women from diverse backgrounds throughout Queensland to make informed choices about issues that affect them in the workplace.
QWWS provides information, advice, advocacy and representation to women, about their employment. QWWS provides a free and confidential service and is available to women in Queensland.
QWWS targets it's services to some of the most disadvantaged and marginalised women in Queensland, including Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander women, women with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women with disabilities or family responsibilities, and young women or women of mature age.
QWWS also auspices the Young Worker's Advisory Service (YWAS) which provides the same services as QWWS, targeted for young people (under 25 years old) in Queensland.
