Panthera is an international nonprofit whose sole mission is the conservation of the world's largest and most imperiled wild cats -- tigers, lions, jaguars and snow leopards.

Utilizing the knowledge of the world's leading cat biologists, including Dr. Alan Rabinowitz and Dr. George Schaller, Panthera implements range-wide conservation initiatives from northern Argentina through Mexico, India to the Russian Far East, Senegal to South Africa, and Mongolia to Afghanistan.

To implement our conservation strategies, Panthera forges partnerships from the bottom up with local communities, park guards, and educators; and top down with policy-makers, environmental agencies, presidents and prime ministers.

Panthera is planning conservation strategies for cheetahs, leopards and mountain lions and supports research and conservation activities on populations of other cat species, as well as initiatives to improve felid research techniques and methodology.
