The Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) continues Dr. Goodall's pioneering research into chimpanzee behavior, research which transformed scientific perceptions of the relationship between humans and animals. Today, the Institute is a global leader in the effort to protect chimpanzees and other animals in their African habitats. It is widely recognized for its innovative, community-centered conservation and development programs across Africa and its education program, Roots & Shoots.

Objectives:
1)Increase primate habitat conservation
2)Increase awareness of, support for and training in issues related to our relationship with each other, the environment and other animals (leading to behavior change)
3)Expand non-invasive research programs on chimpanzees and other primates
4)Promote activities that ensure the well-being of chimpanzees, other primates and animal welfare activities in general
