This afternoon, I joined other environmental activists at the clean energy rally in front of our nation's capitol in support of Representatives Markey and Waxman's American Clean Energy and Security Act. The rally was a successful and well-attended.  In addition to members of various environmental, conservation and labor groups, both Rep. Markey and Rep. Waxman were present to speak about the bill. Taking an inspirational role, Rep. Markey united the troops by leading the chant: "What do we want? Clean energy jobs!  When do we want them? Now!"  Later Rep. Another chapter in the legal battle over wolves was opened today when the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and a coalition of concerned conservation groups challenged the recent U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service decision to remove protections for packs in Montana and Idaho. NRDC has long-advocated for a national wolf recovery plan based on the most current science. Most of the recent scientific analysis points to the need for a larger population of animals with natural genetic interchange between packs in the region.
