In California, there is only one legal aid attorney for every 8,000 low-income residents.  A nationally recognized, catalytic force for poverty law, Bet Tzedek Legal Services-The House of Justice has tailored a unique approach of direct advocacy combined with outreach, education, training and legislative reform that opens the door to justice for over 10,000 low-income LA County residents each year.
 
Bet Tzedek offers FREE essential human services that ensure fundamental fairness, as well as access to our judicial system, for those who risk being left behind. Whether the issue is slum housing, consumer fraud, workers' rights ( the House of Justice is the ONLY source of free legal representation for ALL low-wage workers in Los Angeles County - regardless of immigration status), health-care for seniors, home equity fraud, elder abuse/neglect, human trafficking or kinship care, Bet Tzedek recognizes the human story in each legal case and responds to the needs of those who otherwise would lose their homes, health, savings or families.  

After thirty years, the House of Justice continues to identify systemic injustices and tackle the underlying causes of poverty so that everyone in our community can have equal access to opportunity.
