  1. Jessica Lee Human Trafficking can only be stopped when citizens demand it

Education and a citizen-based movement will prove even more powerful than any unsupported government decree.

Founded by Ashoka Fellow Derek Ellerman, Polaris Project does great work here in DC and across the US! Very informative website, too.

  2. Daniel Cox Polaris - a guiding light

After speaking with the ED of Polaris, I became a committed supporter of this organization.  Sex trafficking is a complex issue that needs to be tackled by intelligent, compassionate individuals capable of breaking through to women caught in the cycle.  I am convinced Polaris is capable of making major inroads in cities around the country.

  3. Mia Walker Not Your Everyday Advocacy Organization

Polaris is not your everyday advocacy organization.  Rather than spending their time yelling into an echo chamber, they are out on the front lines getting their hands dirty, providing services to abused women, fighting for their rights in court, educating community members about the problem of sexual slavery, and bringing together key government officials.  They may run on a tight budget, but they certaintly make the most of every resource they've got.

  4. Top in their Field

Polaris is one of the most effective and influential grassroots anti-trafficking organization in the field.  I first came into contact with them through a friend who recommended I join one of their information sessions, and I’ve been sold ever since.  They’ve been able to integrate almost every type of important aspect of the trafficking movement under one roof – grassroots mobilization, government lobbying, provision of social services, and engagement with the federal and state, and local law enforcement.  I can personally attest to the extremely high quality nature of their staff and to the impressive reputation they have within the anti-trafficking movement.
