In 2005, in partnership with Youth with a Vision, a South Africa-based nonprofit, NextAid began work on a community center and children's residential village in the poverty-stricken town of Dennilton, two hours NE of Johannesburg. So far, 16 structures have been completed. The ecological village will serve as a safe home for 30 children, a multi-purpose center for the entire community, and a model of best practices for future projects.

Help African Angel Tours, NextAid's on the ground travel coordinator, raise funds for the village's guesthouse.  This house will provide lodging for up to 16 guests, volunteers, or visiting eco-tourists. The house will include four bedrooms with two beds each, wardrobes, and cabinets; a kitchen complete with a stove, refrigerator, sink, table, and chairs; a common room with couches and shelves; a shaded patio/outdoor space; a compost toilet/solar-heater shower bathing area; and gardens.

As of now the nearest place to stay is about two hours away and the guesthouse will offer accommodation to visitors as a way to generate income for the village.  African Angel Tours and NextAid see the potential this businesss has to help sustain the future costs of the village.  Help make this a reality by donating and spreading the word!
