NextAid, a Project of Hope for Africa

Groove Cruise Fundraising Project

NextAid, a dance-music based nonprofit committed to developing sustainable solutions for children affected by AIDS in Africa, is the Groove Cruise's official "house" charity.  The Groove Cruise is committing to raise funds to help in the construction of NextAid's projects in Africa.

The Groove Cruise is the only large cruise experience in the world geared towards young professional dance music enthusiasts.  Groove Cruise partners with NextAid, and a portion of all Groove Cruise sales are donated to NextAid in order to benefit African children who have been orphaned by AIDS.

Whet Travel president and Groove Cruise founder Jason Beukema along with his girlfriend Careli Campos traveled to South Africa and visited the NextAid's Dennilton site on March 11, 2009.  They were deeply moved by the vibrant kids, their stories, their scars, and the surroundings they live in.  And now thanks to the people at NextAid and their supporters like us, some of them now have food to eat, a place to sleep, education and a chance in life.  The reality is there are 3-5 AIDS funerals a week in the town and an 88% unemployment rate.  It is hard to imagine, and there are many more kids in the village that sorely need help and education to stop this vicious cycle.  The Groove Cruise has set a fundraising goal of $1,000.  Anything will help...even $5 goes a long way in the lives of these kids.  If you give $50 or more, your name will be mentioned in the preceding Groove Cruise wrap-up email and on the website as a VIP supporter.

With your help, we can reach our fundraising goal.  Please give some love to those less fortunate.  Beats build hope!
