In 1973, at the time of the first oil embargo, I sat in a gas line; shocked at how vulnerable my country was due to its dependence on fossil fuels. It was self evident to me that this was a national security matter.
Unfortunately, I found very little support for that concept. Most people thought I was ridiculously dramatic when I insisted if we didn’t make energy independence a national priority we were in danger of going to war in the middle east. How absurd!
Oh, really?
I've been an environmental activitist since 1973 and have worked on many campaigns. My first goal at Change.org is to see the President restore solar power to the White House and I'm positive he will do this given enough signatures to get his attention.
Solar panels on the White House could light a spark under the solar movement across the United States and around the world.

A lack of bees endangers our food supply. It is absolutely critical we ban this pesticide. I live in a rural area and I can see these changes and the dangers they pose.
