  Hi Mark — great post.  I'm originally from Juneau, which has a bit of a different culture and set of challenges, but family has moved to Anchorage in past couple years.  Alcoholism is a big big issue in the state, and I'm glad to see it not only acknowedged, but in a way that really puts a human face on the problem.
