I've been blighted with ME/CFS for about 10 years now, a short time in comparison to many others. Before it, I was a perfectly happy, healthy and active individual. Now I also have all sorts of other medical issues, including FM, that are "probably a result of having a degenerated immune system" (my GPs words). Some days are a complete struggle and sufferers miss the life they had before all this. We fight really hard to get back some sense of normality and often get slapped back down again. We can't work, many of us don't get any financial support, and are generally ignored by our community and governments. There are so many sufferers who have 'fallen through the cracks' and are essentially being left to rot. We wouldn't treat an animal this way, so why do it to a fellow human? Its disgusting.
All of us in this situation truly want to get better and get on with LIVING our lives. Its time for Institutions the world over to address the physiological aspect of this illness as the psychiatric treatments are continually failing.
