Dean Abernathy, College of Engineering, University of Florida: Do NOT Destroy the CISE Department

Computers form the backbone of innovation and have revolutionized society. Computer science majors are the engine which keeps that going. The professors in this department teach all the other engineers how to solve problems more efficiently and will suffer if this cut is made. I find it difficult to believe the CISE is not a profitable venture for UF and an extremely beneficial service for America. If management change is required to get there, make it, but don't close the entire department! If this is just a PR stunt to bring attention to state budget cuts, hear us roar!
