wow, how can a democracy censor its citizens? this definitely does not make me proud to be of Indian descent.
Saudi Arabia's claims of being a "modern country" are impossible if half the population doesn't have basic rights, which not only includes voting (which, let's note, only happened in the 21st century) but mobility. It is ridiculous that women, even those that are doctors/highly educated, are not allowed to drive, which really isn't even a difficult task. I can only imagine that Saudi men are reluctant to give up total control over "their women's" location/life.
Although it is important to acknowledge the principle of free speech, this should be enforced as it is not only a tacit acceptance of rape, it is against Facebook policies.
This is so disappointing.
It makes a big difference when a major athlete makes a public announcement of support and it is a step backward when others get away with demeaning/insulting him. Note that other ahletic leagues did enforce a fine.
