I'm a father of an bright young man and two great daughters who both have been instrumental in helping their brother who has Autism. They were both 'trained' in how to introduce things to their brother and have both been an integral part of his after school program. I enjoy the beaches of Oahu and the sunsets from the island. Peace and relaxation are an important part of everyone's life - when we get some !

Michael commented on the article |I just looked at the stupid links.. one is to a college in Oregon... not too bright. The other is not a gov't page and is a 'quasi' page made up to just caue trouble. Don't even pay attention to Mr. Avi unless you want to laugh at him. If you want help please contact getafape.org. Thank you Staci and other parents and past clients that I've worked with. And even present clients that have stated the truth about me verses the lies some crazy man is spreading around using Myspace, Facebook, About.com:Autism, change.org, and even CafeMom !! I think that could be an identity crisis. We'll be here at GetaFape.org to help any parents in any way we can. I like to stay on the topic, which is children are being injured and even dying in restraint and in seclusion. We've recently uncovered some time out cells and abuses going on and are working on a few cases many will see in the papers once again. We must stand united and be a strong lobby of those that want change.
I do apologize for the inconvience of having to read a bunch of lies about me by a Jealous man with no real Citizenship in America other then a fraudulent marriage. Please disregard his post and continue to stay on topic. Thank you Staci, she's 23 and Autistic and had to be subject to this posting. Some people just don't care about our kids or our cause.. and just want to make trouble.. It's no trouble though, it's more of something to laugh at until it's removed. I would comment further on the tasing.. but can not. I have two open cases and both involve Civil Action. I am looking for the parents of this child in Calif.. that is my home state and I WILL NOT allow this. In Arizona.. they now find it okay to take any person with a BA in anything to be a SLP for our kids.. our kids need REAL Pathologists..not quasi licensed through manipulation of IDEA2004 S.L.nothings. See for yourself..this has been a 5 month long investigation .. ALL parents and ALL SLP's with CCC's should be outraged.. our kids need people with the right eductation and right certification... And we don't need a state bleeding Medicaid dry with claims that are fraudulent.. Take a look..d/l and watch the power point presentation..and read the SLP blog on how they did it.. We need a joint coalitoin to stop this.. all sides must join.. forget about cause/cure and every other indifference.. this is the future of our children and this doesn't just happen to them, i get cases regarding adults as well in similar circumstances.

Ten year old Ian was my client. After multiple meetings with a total of 14 hours invested into trying to get a simple BIP done this child was doing well trying to adapt without his service dog that helps him so much. His principal has no order whatsoever and conducted himself in a way that would make one wonder how he could possibly have this job.. the threats regarding this made it immenent to me that this would happen. No BIP agreed upon, No agreed upon IEP, threats of arrest in multiple venues, this was nothing more then a huge ego in an Administrator. The fact he brough up being 'swung at by a 2x4 and a cable made me have to ask " WHY are these things at school ? The answer was blabber. Ian is a great kid that enjoys all kinds of activities including cruises and baseball and alot of other things. This wasn't about the child, nor the teachers - they're our friends, this is about administration - lack of ability to do a proper FBA and execute a BIP (that should take an hour, not 14 with no agreement),
This is about a STATE that is actually pushing to arrest children. My office has recieved multiple calls from parents over the last few weeks.. with 9 total arrested in 4 states..most of the parents are unwilling to talk for fear of retaliation.. understandable but doesn't help our community.
Reports from MA, TX, TN, and FL continue with problems with restraint and arrests or charges filed. Maryland is the most current.. it was yesterday. But like many.. the parent doesn't want the media involved until they need them, very understandable in so many cases because retaliation occurs.
Not always, but at times. Filing a Due Process right away can help 'shield' a child and parent from that due to the implicatinos of it. If your child has been restrained and you do not want that, or if you've had another incident such as arrest or abuse and you need help, I DO NOT CHARGE parents. Even in the case of the 14 hour IEP, those who help ..help others.. For me this is a mission. Illegal use of restraint must stop, we must STOP corporal punishments, tasers, police force, Time out Rooms and Seclusion Rooms.
