Laurie Eggleston

Well, to start off I am a soldier in the U.S. Army. This brings with it a lot of stereo types that I do not fall into. I joined the Army to see the world but also to pay my debt to freedom. I never intended on staying in as long as I have but the Army has been good to me. Even though I am a soldier now I do not plan to always be one. I am going to school for International Relations because I want to make a difference but in a peaceful way. I think my time spent in the military will help me towards understanding how to influence peace without war. The Army has made it possible for me to experience other cultures and to see their compassion and strength. Because of my travels I understand that no one is individual and that every person is dependent on each other. I hope someday I can influence change and inspire others to peace.
