The point to be made now is that the Traditionalists and anyone at all should not mess with the Constitution. Rights granted by a constitution are firmly entrenched and should NOT be up for review. One cannot TAKE AWAY rights. One can only ADD them. That should be the focus - more than on the obvious homophobia. If you focus on the contitutional aspect of this then you can use examples such as ..."how would you like it Mr. Chief Traditionalist if the idea of protecting "race" came up for review? " Because if you take a review of one group, then you are setting a precedent for reviewing any and all groups in the future!!
South Africa stands proudly as a country that has embraced full protection for all - why role back the clock for a few traditionalists who think they may get more votes or pats on their backs? Surely the majority of South Africans respect their Constitution? BUT if they do not, then remember rights are entrenched into constitutions to protect minorities ... You cannot mess with the Constitution by taking away rights - reviews should be there ONLY to ADD rights. .. The mere thought of this is a dark ominous cloud and a tragic stain on history!!!
Surely rights that protect against discrimination are fully entrenched! This is an outrage and must not be tolerated. It is akin to asking for the return of apartheid - no one's rights are less important than another's. How DARE THEY! Urging all SA LGBTQI groups to form a coalition and fight this with all your might!
