Gillers is quite right: the Proponents had an opportunity to ask the judge to recuse himself, and they didn't.
Maybe Fox News should ask them why.
Oh dear. Look at those signs. They use "yes" icons: a check mark, the color green. That's exactly the same thing the No On Prop 8 campaign did for its first few months, until they switched from a green checkmark to a red X. These things seems small because we're not even aware of them; but deep in our brains they make an impact.
I really hope Maine stops making the same mistakes we made in California.
What's the one thing that wins public support over to our side faster than anything else? Conversations. If the movie causes conversations -- and it does! a lot! -- then in the long run, it can only help.
This is great news. Well done!
And hey, what's going on with the LGBT Blogger Initiative? It's been months now and I haven't heard anything about it. It's still around, right?
I'm so glad to see all these people. Thanks for this roundup; it's really encouraging to see how numerous we are!
One minor quibble, though ... I think it might alienate potential allies to see the word "hate," or it's cute cousin "H8." If we're trying to convince someone to come over to our side, it seems like accusing them of being hateful might just irritate them.
How cow. Where is that photograph from? It's incredible.
Oh, hey, thanks for using my photo of the rally! That's Molly McKay with the megaphone, directing the crowd's attention as the choir gets set up. Here's the link to the rest of my pix of this protest, and of several other protests.
