In college in the Philippines, Esperanza Garcia organized an event for World Vision Organization that helped give education to hundreds of Filipino children. She then moved to San Francisco to finish her Bachelor's degree. Since 2007, she has volunteered and participated in conferences such as the Ecocity World Summit, Green Festival, & West Coast Green. Her blog on 'Eco-design and Sustainable Architecture" with 3,000 members addresses sustainable developments.
She participated as a Global Youth Leader at the 5th Annual Youth Assembly in the United Nations. She is part of the International Youth Council as Director of Projects in the Philippines an Director of Global Warming & Climate Change Initiatives. She was the scholar and Youth Representative for The Global Summit 2008 in San Francisco. She is serving as the Chief Campaigner for the Youth for the Philippine Green Building Council. She is currently interning for Architecture International in San Francisco.
