President of Sustainable Global Sourcing, LLC. Based in San Francisco, Sustainble Global Sourcing is a social venture focused on women’s economic empowerment in Sub-Saharan Africa. We help women lift themselves out of poverty by partnering with them to establish profitable business cooperatives within the apparel industry. Our dedication to reducing poverty in Africa is matched with a steadfast commitment to the environment. We are working towards completely powering each cooperative with renewable energy by 2019 and using only sustainably produced inputs by 2015.

The Women’s Sewing Project model was developed by Sustainable Global Sourcing
and first implemented in Liberia. The model is designed to be replicated throughout Sub-
Saharan Africa over the next decade. Our aim is to create 5,000 garment manufacturing jobs,
in partnership with local entrepreneurs, by 2019.
