I have had three communications from the Ag's department and quite frankly their reasoning is just not holding together. I reject the reasons given for not doing more. This is not done lightly or on a whim. there is STILL a dangerous loophole and how do i know that this is not a theoretical loophole, because the defence was attempted in two recent trials in this very area. the fact that these attempts failed really does not take away from the sense of alarm that the law as it stands allows these pathetic defences to be attempted. it is always unclear what the mere raising of these matters in the hearing of all might do to taint a future trial. why raise these matters at all, i ask! the AG's department makes a big song and dance about forming these committees. I understand that some people left these handpicked committees very unhappy with the process and the listening and some were not even included! Just use some common sense and close this loophole.
