Alternately pushed into action and into denial given the extreme state of things. I have lived in the Middle East, Europe and the US- NY has been home for 12 years- longer than anywhere. It is true, the whole world is here! Just not for the same reasons...

Maha commented on the article |Children are most definitely being killed. You can support the action through whatever analysis you want, but to say there are no infant victims is going too far. They were alive. Then they were hit by bombs sent by Israel. Now they are dead.
Be supportive of the military action of Israel, but don't pretend that children are not dying because of it. -

I agree with you Charles- I don't think genocide is the intention. I just had a scary moment where I saw the world slipping towards accidental genocide. I fear our acceptance rate of "collateral damage" gets higher and higher... -

nonviolence? you mean like standing in front of a tank before it can demolish a house? ask rachel corrie how that turned out. Not to mention the smear on her character here in the US after her death.
Or any number of academics who never raise more than a pen only to be continuously slandered throughout their careers. Or the theater artists and others in Palestine who end up in prison. Sorry- I want a nonviolent campaign too but please don't speak as though nobody is trying. There are countless nonviolent protests around the world for and by Palestinians. But it is much more fun to cover arabs throwing shoes and other missiles.
