Bridget commented on the petition |Once again science is being ignored in favour of emotion and politics. Culls do NOT work and this one could wipe out the population of badgers in the UK. The problem is not the badgers; it is the farmers and farming practices. Sort that out and leave the badgers alone.

Bridget commented on the petition |WWF has a mandate to protect species at risk. Seals are falling prey to climate change, government scientists have confirmed the harp seal herd is declining. Yet the federal government has ignored the advice of its own scientists and has set an unsustainably high TAC while the government of the province of Newfoundland has just announced a "loan" of $3.6 million to the sealing industry to allow them to fill the TAC and stockpile the pelts for possible future markets.
Clearly harp seals are now at risk. Will WWF reconsider its stance on the seal hunt or will it continue to repeat blindly that seals are not at risk and current hunting levels do not threaten the health of the herd????
