I chose not to include the specific names of each college investigated due to the fact that this seems to be more of an endemic problem than one specific to a few institutions. However, you can see the full list here, which includes U. of Phoenix, Corinthian Colleges, and Kaplan College campuses, among others.

Ted, that's an interesting perspective on the issue of schools and "education" -- just how much of schooling is about truly educating kids, anyway? Bravo to the idea of parents and communities innovating to improve or redesign what we consider to be education.

Jorge, you make a great point. It's not all about online tutors and educational computer programs: teachers can strive to tailor instruction for their students simply by paying close attention to their individual needs and designing their lesson plans accordingly.
