  California Democrats Reject the Death Penalty

  Here in Texas, we will have a meeting of "Democrats Against the Death Penalty" at the 2010 Texas Democratic Party Convention. The caucus meeting is the first day of the convention, Friday June 25, from 1-2:30 in Corpus Christi. In 2004 we got the Texas Democratic Party to endorse a moratorium on executions in the platform. In 2008, the Resolutions Committee at the Texas Democratic Party State Convention approved a resolution to abolish the death penalty, but it did not get voted on by the floor of the convention before adjournment.
