  • What Is the Public Option?

I agree with just expandind medicaid.  Many countries have modeled their healthcare systems after a modified version of our medicare/medicaid system, and it works well for them...they just correct the problems.  My only problem with it is that my state for example has an expanded medicaid program that I just got on for childless couples.   It's a nice way of telling people that if you're responsible enough to not have kids that you can't take care of, the government is going to punish you...this program pays for almost nothing....although I'm grateful I can go to the doctor, most my meds aren't paid for, I can't get prescription assistance through the drug companies, and most the treatments I need won't be paid for.  And on top of it, I won't be eligible for the public option even if I can afford it...so how is that fair?
