I'm the founder of the Respect The Breast initiative and an 11-year breast cancer survivor with no family history of the disease.
I found my tumor at age 31 during one of those Breast Self Exams (BSEs) the report deems "useless" and who supports my remaining breast tissue through mammography, Dilon Scans, a few nice bras, and advocacy.
Had I followed the USPSTF guidelines, not done breast self-exams, and patiently waited until 50 to get my first mammogram, I'd be dead.
But I'm not, I'm here and I am working to make sure as many other people as possible who have cancer also get to find out what tomorrow holds.
How can they have a tomorrow if they are denied preventative cancer screenings today?
Thank you for your support of Respect The Breast.
