It's the Iberian equality!
Sorry to disappoint the people from the US, UK, and all those other countries: we might not be so rich or so developed, but we are people that THINK and RESPECT each other. In Portugal, is not acceptable to argue that someone cannot make is own decisions, and religious speech is not accepted as an argument for any political decision.
I hope other countries can follow our steps. We've a tradition of being pioneers.

The 2 other guys can start to feel ashamed on the 8th January 2010. Yes, it's less than 2 weeks for same sex marriage to be voted and approved on the portuguese parliament.
I hope the they feel very ashamed on their own countries, meanwhile I feel proud of Portugal, not only for this.

No offense to British nor to American people, but we, Portuguese people, are a tolerant and not-religiously brainwashed country.
I'm sorry to tell you, but we were also the first country to abolish slavery and one of the first to abolish the death penalty (1 century before the UK).
You should be ashamed of your ignorance. Just because Portugal is less developed economically that doesn't make us retards.
