  • The Health Care Bill By the Numbers
Bob commented on the article | about 2 years ago

Let's look at this article as written. We are insuring 30 million people with Medicaid. We spend 50 million today on the uninsured so that is 500 bill. What is the other 400 bill do. If this is what reform is about why is it partisan and such a big deal??

  • Death to All Public Options

Who is writing this bill? It's Rahm  and Andy Stern plus the special interests. Most Congressmen don't have a clue, they just sell their vote. If you think the public option is dead look at the wording in the exchanges. there is mandated 2 public plans run by the government. This bill has been reduced to just helping Obama save face. We need reform and improvement in the system but it is not happening. Read HELP Your health Care Hanging in the balance  www.robertblades.com

Ok Hows this for reform. Small business owners only pay $750/employee to not offer insurance. That's far less than purchasing insurance for an employee. Next, for low income employees who pick a plan from an exchange the employer must add in $3,000. So who will hire the low income people? who thought this out?  So individuals are still left out. I still have a problem with the answer to the uninsured being Medicaid. This is second class service with less doctors and wait in the back of the bus.  And state taxes are going to explode which affect everyone's pocket book.  I love reform and the fixes to our broken system.

  • Is a Strong Public Option Trigger the Answer?

I guess I had a senior monent. It is the McCarran Fergusion Act that is primarily rsponsible for the high cost of health insurance and lack of competition. It also restricts portability of insurance across state lines.

I knew Cherokee would be peeking. Do you really work for the White House. I am not for the staus quo. far from it. Read my book. We have unlimited heath care today whether rich or poor. I am not for my state florida picking up the tab of over 900 million to expand Medicaid in Florida in this bill which the state does not have.

We could increase competition if Congress would repeal the Warren/Fergusion act that restricts insurance competition and States control the process and rates. Medicare and Medicaid are public optiions so how well are they working for us. There are solutions out there if Congress would look at them. Another thing to think about. If the parties line up on each side then it takes 60 votes in the Senate. That means all the dem's When this is the case the lobbyist, lawyers and special interest groups get whatever they want and we lose. There is a great book on this debate at www.robertblades.com called HELP! Your health care hanging in the Balance.

  • Will the Senate Health Bill Really Bend the Cost Curve? (P2)
Bob commented on the article | about 2 years ago

Insurance premuims go up. We stand in line. Single payor but who goes broke. Medicare and Medicaid are running large deficits for someone to pay.  Another Single payor? Will hospitals cut services or go broke at Medicare rates in the public option. Fix the problems of risk pools and pre-existing conditions.

Every American should read the book  HELP Your Health Care Hanging in the Balance   www.robertblades.com  Then bombard Congress to do the right thing.

  • 5 Steps to Get Americans on Board With Health Reform

You made go to work. The first 10 years there is 10 yrs of tax vs 6 years of cost. That is the 130b savings The CBO would not project the second 10 yrs. The 650b is a quote by a congressional aide. That makes it a great source.

This is an intersting post which goes to the bottom of the reform that is not going to happen. Insurance companies are regulated by the Feds and the states and their policies must be approved. The states put all kinds of stuff in the plans that drive up costs. Insurance should be employee centered not employer so we do not lose our insurance. What wrong with the public option. Its run by the government. What is wrong with that? Look at Medicare. Its good insurance for the patient, not the doctor, not the country because it has a 30 trillion dollar debt somebody has to pay. Medicaid is worse. It is government run and pays so little the doctors will not treat us and it is seriously in debt. If we could buy insurance like we do for cars the price would drop like a rock.

We must eliminate risk pools and pre-existing conditions to help the small employer. Congress won't touch it. Yes, we do have a very corrupt Washington. We point our finger at others but we are just as bad.

We need to take care of our citizens but this bill is about taxes and spending. Health care will not be improved. sorry
