I am in a bi-national same-sex relationship with Cecilia from Malaysia. We are desperately hoping that the minds and hearts of the citizens of this country embrace us and allow us to live in the US together.
In the meantime, Cecilia is being denied entry because of her relationship with me. This is because same-sex couples cannot sponsor their partners for immigration, so the State Department views her as an intended immigrant and at risk of an overstay.
We hope this bridge is gapped, and that same-sex coules can, in all ways, be regarded as equal in the eyes of the law to our straight counter-parts.
