Julie Kautz

I am passionate about health care reform. My interests tend towards 1) improving access to care, 2) changing health care financing structures to support primary rather than tertiary care, and 3) expanding the supply of primary care physicians in the US.
I am also interested in global health issues, specifically ways to bolster the health care infrastructure in developing countries, reduce brain drain, and align funding with major causes of morbidity/mortality (as opposed to disease-specific interests). I tend to take a gestalt/big picture perspective on health care issues.
