  • Pot and the Safe Driving Myth

Ok but are we going to be administering blood tests on the side of the road?  You still have to send it off for testing.  It just doesn't seem very feasible.  I do believe that pot should be legalized but before that can happen we need to develop a way to test right then and there.

So how do we determine what the safe "driving while high" limit is?  Is it one joint? Two? Three?    While I do think pot should be legalized, it is irresponsible to say that driving while high is safe across the board.  Just like drinking impairs your motor skills so to does pot and to say that it doesn't is ridiculous.

We can't put the blame just on these crime shows, watching the local news is the same.  You very rarely see anything good going on in the world, but they let you know about every rape and murder!

I had to stop watching these shows for this very reason!  I started thinking that everyone was a criminal, from the guy at the grocery store to the nice old lady next door.  I don't think it would have effected my verdict if I was on a jury but it was definitely making me paranoid.

Many of the people arrested for DWI's are under the influence of more than one substance.  So the "zero death" propaganda is impossible to prove or disprove.  Maybe they smoked a joint and drank a couple of beers, the breathalyzer is administered first and it very rarely goes any farther than that.  I think that if marijuana is ever legalized it should be treated like alcohol as far as a DWI goes.

It really sounds like that in the case mentioned it wouldn't have mattered if the mother understood the process.  A mother with a drug problem is not likely to support her child through the legal process.  It is a shame that he couldn't have gone into foster care instead.

NO it does not suprise me.  Pedophile or not if you have commited multiple sex crimes(hello, attempted rape!)  then you should not be around children.

Because there are children involved.  Someone with three sex crime convictions should not be allowed around children.  Would you want him around your kids?

I agree that everyone should have access to church, however I don't think this guy should be put in a position of power at a church.  This church says that he won't be allowed access to these children but children do attend this church.  I would never let my child around a convicted sex offender, better safe than sorry.
