Verizon, in Colorado Springs, employed my nephew David for approximately nine years. As Verizon began to lay off people, my nephew and his wife were having a child... they were both seriously worried and David made the cut several times, but finally he was laid off--they constantly worried about his job. Verizon then began outsourcing their software analysis, experimentation and support. It sort of makes me ashamed to be a customer... but in the Shenandoah Valley where I live, we have NO choice!
