  • Tell Florida Lawmakers: No More Wrongful Convictions
Neal commented on the article | almost 2 years ago

Not sure about Florida, but in California, it is all a mute discussion due to the fact that Manson is still breathing and using our taxes to feed and wipe his ass.  Being sentenced to death in California is more a repreave than any other sentence. free food and clothing and houseing for the rest of your long long life.  Not to worry about dieing, they don't execute  in California.

  • Has Jessica's Law Increased Homelessness in CA?

Hello Ms. Browning,  As you contacted me. Yes I am NOT on megans laws' site because there was NO victim in my crime.  I down loaded pictures of various children, am in counselling for the reasoning behind it.  I never contacted any children or touched anyone. only in the privacy of my own home did I download said pictures.  My computer had automatic "backup" of files so the Sacramento Hi-tech crimes unit found numerous pictures of the same type over and over and nothing to prove distribution or any "studio" at my house so they dropped their case and gave it to the city of MOdesto, whom at the time was in an election year and wanted to "be tough" on chilc pornography and I had the perverbial "public defender" whom had me plead nolo contecdere which ruined my chance for appeals, and kept the 12 jurors from having to see my form of collections of beautiful young ladies.  I spent 8 months of my assigned 364 days in a Maximum security section of Jail due to my requirement for an oxygen generator for my COPD, AND CPAP for sleep apnea that could kill me in my sleep.  There were only 2 cells in the whole jail that had electrical service to handle my machines for life support.  Now I find that my property is 200 yards into the 2000 ft requirement of Jessica's law.  I am presently waiting for the Suprieme Courts decision on the constitunionality of Jessica's law to see if I have to move or not.  They cannot make my wife move (she did NOTHING wrong) So as a matter of fact, the law is telling me I cannot live with my wife in my own home that I have been buying for 10 years now and married for 34 years.  I am still required by megans law to register as a sex offender, although I  have the priveledge to fill out a request of release from the listing on the website due to my NOT haveing a victim and NOT touching anyone or contacting anyone.  I still have the lifelong requirement to register with the police department and have lost my basic constitutional rights to bear arms, register to vote, or hold office of any type.   I was encouraged by your mail, and look forward to further discussions with you if you want to send directly to my E-mail given above.

  • Should Shelters Ban Sex Offenders?

I do believe I told the person to seek help through an organization I am being forced to pay for called Parents United, here in California.  They are a child advocacy "tax free" organization providing counselling to child molesters and victims of child abuse.  Know of what you speak before being thought a fool and opening your mouth and removing all doubt!!

So very true, thank you for your clear insight of the problems.  The registry is completely useless other than to expand the notariety and bolster the egos of the weak.  How many "neighborhood watches" have been started in the past few years with the police attempting to control gangs, violence, and illegal operations, yet the news is full of whole communities that are "shocked" when the house next door to them is being used as a "botanical garden" for illegal drugs.  And nobody notices?  yet the "lesser" so called sex offender (whom is homeless and urinates in the bushes but gets "seen" by a wandering child (whose parent has not paid attention to in the first place) the person urinating and the urinator is "labelled for life and registers for the rest of his/her life as a "sex offender".  Let us get real people.

Mr Holeman, you sir are to be respected and I thank you for seeing through all the prejudices and personal fears of the either uneducated, or OVER educated like the "pshycologist" whom replied to my attempt to allow people to see things from MY personal experience while their only "experience" is from school books and other teachers whom have NEVER been out of school.

Just a note to the knowledgeable "Radical Republican".  This site helps out "brainiacs" like you by providing a "check spelling" clickable link (childeren?)

Where are you going to get the money for the "shelters specifically for sex offenders?"  And where are you going to put them?  They cannot be within 2000 feet of any school, playground, church, or any other place children congregate.  What country do you reside in that does NOT provide congregation areas for our children?

My first point---I agree, people caught TOUCHING, HURTING, MOLESTING, CHILDREN should be "taken care of" but why use tax dollars to house and feed them for the rest of their lives?

My second point---I am a retired Marine with 20+ years serving my country, then went back to college to get an associates degree in criminal justice. As part of the curriculum we covered "child pornography", which created a sort of "curiosity" that drove me to further searching on-line.  In the process of my on-line searching, Yahoo Inc. reported me to the Sacramento High tech crimes unit for child pornography.  I plead "no contest" to having child pornography on my computer to avoid 12 jurors having to view the images that were on my computer.  I have NEVER TOUCHED, FONDLED, HURT, OR CONTACTED any  children.  I was sentenced to 364 days in county jail and forced to register as a "sex offender" and NOW am in jepardy of losing my house I have been buying for 10 years, or separating from my wife of 34 years to move away from my house which is within 2000 feet of a school.  Or I will be in violation of "jessica's law" and go back to jail.  I feel this is all OVERPUNISHMENT for having pictures on my computer, there was NO VICTIM (other than myself) in the commision of my crime.  God bless the politicians for attempting to protect our children "after the fact" but they need to find feesible alternatives to make the punishment fit the crime.  Back to my first point, although California still hasn't executed Manson, a quick and cheap bullet (without all the tree huggers appeals and tax dollars spent)  would convince the true MOLESTERS the politicians MEAN to punish people whom commit crimes against others. Yet they need to quit invadeing the privacy of people in the privacy of their own homes, not hurting anyone.
