Well said, Jen.
Women's rights are not a bargaining chip, and frankly I am tired of Washington, and Democrats, who are supposed to be working for us, acting as though they are. This is what we get when we trade women's rights for a bunch of vague promises.
How is this a victory with the Stupak Amendment attached to it? This is no victory for women at all. This is another example of how we will win anything as long as women can be cast aside by those we put in place to protect us. I am embarrassed to say Stupak is my own Congressman, too. This is anything but good news. This isn't going to help many people who need it the most. Abortion coverage is still a gender disparity. It isn't a "victory...but". This is no victory. It was worth blocking until we got it right.
What a great idea. This would be a great thing to have in my hometown area (or areas where I lived after leaving home). Too bad I am not living in an area where I can garden or get into this, but I will spread the word around!
Wow. That image reeks of racism too. Like Ms. Karp said, slave trade. It also kind of makes me think of foot binding. I am not sure what statement they were trying to make, but it stinks, like a smelly shoe.
