I'm your average everyday person, except for the fact that the law and government would consider me a criminal because I enjoy using cannabis(marijuana) instead of the legal/lethal substances alcohol and tobacco. I'm one of the millions fighting for marijuana law reforms so that one day I can smoke a joint/bowl/dutch without fear of law enforcement breaking down my door, shooting my dog and beating/tasering/macing/shooting me, just as people that choose to use alcohol and tobacco now have the freedom to do.

peter commented on the article |The U.S. gov won't ever change it's stance on it's abismally failed "WAR ON DRUGS"....especially it's stance on cannabis, and there is 1 simple reason why, it's to profitable. Not only can they bilk the American people out of trillions in tax dollars to fight this insane war but you have multi-billion dollar companies "funding"(bribing) politicians to advance their special intrests, and if even cannabis alone were to be re-legalized those companies profit margins would take a hit. Let us also not forget the false economy that has sprung up as a result of blanket prohibition,i.e. the drug testing industry. So in both the short and long term the U.S. gov is not concerned about the people or what's best for them but how they are going to be re-elected and keep the "funding" from the multi-billion dollar industies flowing into their "campain funds"(back pockets).
