I love all animals, especially horses. I'm married & have a 12yr. old daughter. I love taking photos of family, pets ( 1 dog, 2 cats), & nature. I'm also an animal/wildlife freelance portrait artist (pastels, charcoal, pencil, & painting).I previously worked as a veterinary assistant/receptionist before being blessed with a child.

Valerie commented on the petition |I'm signing this because this is an unnecessary, inhumane practice! Animals are not on this earth to be tortured, abused & exploited by humans. Our ancestors did just fine without all this stuff.

Valerie commented on the petition |I'm signing this because horse slaughter is not necessary, is cruel, inhumane & horrific! We need to come up with humane alternatives, incentives for breeders & horse owners, horse slaughter is NOT the answer to anything!

If Europeans specifically raise their horses as food animals, that's THEIR sicko problem, American horses are NOT raised as food animals, & NEVER have been, nor are they fit for consumption, unless you like poinoning people! That sounds like a criminal offense.

Valerie commented on the petition |I'm signing this because horse slaughter is NOT "humane", no matter how many lies have been said. Most of the horses going to slaughter are NOT the "neglected, abandoned, or starving" as some would have you believe! Most of the slaughter-bound horses are coming from irresponsible, greedy breeders & research facilities.
