This guy is a shill. Plain and simple. I support HR 676 and Rep. John Conyers D-MI. Single Payer. Health care is a right not something profits by bankrupting the poorest people in society. This guy is still friends with them. He supports the new plan oh lets see why because it IS corporate welfare. Of course Wendell loves the new plan in which insurance lobbyists have written so complicated that even the most experienced congressmen have shunned its length and ambiguity. this bill is a big problem. Do not let them sucker you into believing this is the right direction. Even many progressive people have been fooled by this bill. Read what John Conyers and Dennis Kucinich have to say. These are not conservatives against the obama bill but the most liberal democrats. Worried Yet?

I am not a right wing nut. I don't like this health care bill because I am a true progressive. I also don't like health insurance companies and wouldn't mind if they all went bankrupt or made illegal. That is precisely why I do not trust the current healthcare plan. It raids the medicare fund for and turns MORE not LESS of the control of our health care system from the public sector to the health insurance companies. It is corporate welfare at best and at a time when thousands of companies are terminating health insurance by cutting employees. The health care industry thinks it 'needs' help to cover the loss of revenues due to huge jumps in unemployment that will not go away with this jobless recovery. The fact that it is corporate welfare is not the worst aspect of the bill, it gives more power to the same people driving up the rates and denying people the treatment they need. I don't know for sure if anything in that monstrosity 1000pgs could be viewed as the government could kill your grandma. Why risk it? Does it provide a "right to health care" as in canada and the sweden? no. is it single payer? no is it cheaper for poor people? no because actually it is a law saying you MUST have health insurance. Or what? Are we in violation of the law.
Rep John Conyers - D, MI is the most important voice against the obama health care fiasco. the bill is not single payer and it grants citizens no new rights. It is not socialized medicine but corporate welfare where the trough of medicare will be opened for insurance corporations and everyone will have the RESPONSIBILITY to go out and find healthcare they can afford allegedly with help from programs which will likely be cut for future tax cuts for the wealthy.
