All it would take is some wealthy friend of ours to act as bait and sue the living daylights out of the city for abuse.

It's a Boredom Crime. A hate crime is a crime with a passion. This wasn't hate. It was naked malice.

    Easy target.

Neo-anything usually means same old poop.

    Unbelievable.

I fail to see how multiple cops can't surround a knife wielding homeless person.

This is poor training combined with rationalizations that can't apply to cops.

Homeless people are treated like criminals in shelters. Guess what effect that has on how they are perceived by cops?

It is exactly the same issue. Only deadly.

This is the result of the militarization of police. They've been Blackwatered. It only serves the state power hub.

To protect and to serve is teh old skool.

Myself I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with police.

But this is what institutionalism does. And all it would take is for one cop to sue for not having that training made available to put an end to it.

    Institutionalism is fantastic, eh?

  • The Franklin Conspiracy Theory Sensationalizes Abuse
Anti commented on the article | over 2 years ago

Alleging sensationalism by association isn't uncovering sensationalism. It's suffering from media fatigue.

Sensationalism isn't merely the appearance of the usual suspects but how they are presented. If there's a sleazy voice over suggested by the presentation. then yes it's that's sensationalism. If it's merely a series of intrigues and strange happenings, it's really not offensive.

You may think there are more important ways to spend one's time, but that's dismissing it out of hand and expecting everyone else to follow suit. The blanket association with Roswell, Area 51, and other strangeness really undermines the argument.

Abuse is going on in hiogh places and we need to appreciate those who uncover it.

You can become poor in an economic boom when your roomamtes claim to have paid their share for rent but used the money for drugs.

Poverty is incident by incident. It is not an abstract unfortunate statistical event connected purely to vaguely defined variables over the whole economy. It's real not it's not a side effect.

The rhetoric of systemic breakdown ignores the individual and individual causes. Systemic breakdown rhetoric comes from desk jockeys and bean counters. It's inaccurate, insulting, and useless.

People in rental property lack a dwelling of their own as well. And don't folrget contract workers who live a pretty comfortable life with no permanent residence by staying in hotels. Those who don't move too much might get a weekly deal in a studio.

The point is treating people who are not helpless as if they are keeps them poor.
