Where was the outrage from the LGBT community when Target was donating directly to Michele Bachmann, who was doing fundraisers for and with Bradlee Dean of You Can Run band. Just in case no one knows who this is, Dean is the dude who said that Muslims should come to America to kill gay people (then said he didn't say that). But no one seemed to care that Target was donating to Bachmann or the Dean connection then. All of a sudden a Minnesota newspaper publishes a story about Dean and Emmer, and suddenly gay.inc has their panties in a wedgie and we're all aboard for the boycott Target express.
Yet no one cares why Target donates to these GOPthuggies. The reason is that they GOP lets Target sell cheap crap made by slaves in third world countries, by sweatshop workers in New York City, undocumented migrant workers harvesting pesticide soaked crops, and Chinese workers dying from the toxins used in the cheap crap they make for us to buy. But why should we care that children are forced into mines to scrap the metals used to manufacturer this crap, or are tied to tables putting together some plastic thing.
Now don't get all upset and start singing we can't save the world, because frankly I have heard that sad song. But if we don't care about the rights of any other human beings, how much better are we than Target? Maybe if some of us thought that at least 10% of those workers are LGBT that might make a difference. We care about them when the governments where they live threaten to kill them. We don't care about when the cheap crap they make for us to buy is killing them.
But once Target gives the money to gay.inc (which is what got HRC all hepped up about this in first place - they are already trying to get this money from Target as if that will suddenly repeal DADT and DOMA and pass ENDA and all the other stuff), then the boycott will end, the cheap crap will still be killing the people making them, we will buy them and we won't care about any other human rights other than our own.
Never heard of Tom Emmer until today and then voila I get a Facebook link sent directly to me - check it out and ask him if he agrees with his buddy Bradley Dean - I just did
We can all continue to complain to the choir or argue endlessly with tyrannical theocRATs who believe they have chosen to be heterosexual and that gives them the right deny everyone they think has not chosen to be heterosexual the same rights they enjoy.
Or we can do something about this by demanding equality not asking permission.

There is only state-sanctioned marriage in the United States. There is no other state-recognized marriage. It is not about the state owning anyone - if that was the case then every heterosexual couple is owned by the state.
Marriage is a legal contract, and in that contract are included 1138 federal and state rights and responsibility of marriage. No religious wedding ceremony confers any of those rights on any couples in America - no matter who they love.
When gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans pay taxes we are Americans. When we go to the polls and vote we are Americans.
Only when we rightfully demand all the rights every other American enjoys, especially those 1138 federal and state rights of marriage, that some Americans believe we are no longer Americans but are only our sexuality.
Just because you don't agree with us, approve of us, accept, respect, understand, tolerate, look like, believe like, vote like and love like us does not mean that we require your permission to have the same exact rights you have.
See there is only one reason why the 1138 federal and state rights of marriage must be unconditionally applied to all Americans- that is because of the one immutable and unalienable fact - we are Americans and that gives us the same rights as you have.
Change takes time - how much time is too much time. Ever since America became a country more than 200 years ago, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans have not had the right to the 1138 federal and state rights of marriage. Is 224 years enough time?
We need to change the paradigm and start demanding our unalienable constitutional rights and stop asking permission because we are Americans - that is unmutable - we are Americans - and that is why we are entitled to all 1138 federal and state rights of marriage- and why we are entitled to unconditional constitutional equalit.y. That is why we don't need permission, acceptance, approval, agreement, understanding, tolerance or respect from any tyrannical theocRATS - because we are Americans. We don't need to be polite - we need to demand what is rightfully ours, and if you haven't figured out why yet it's because we are Americans, and it does not matter who we love, how we look or what we believe. Stop asking permission and start demanding unconditional equality.
Judges for 40 years ruling on cases challenging marriage inequality ruled that religious wedding ceremomnies confer none of the 1138 federal and state rights of marriage. In every case brought by gay or lesbian couples where they argued they had a religious wedding ceremony, every court ruled that the ceremony was not legally binding. They all ruled that only a state-issued marriage license, signed, witnessed and filed with the state conferred those rights as the l.icense is the equivalent of a contract between the couple and together with the government.
The courts also ruled that because marriage is only legally recognized with the state marriage license, the ministers who conducted religious wedding ceremonies were not breaking any laws, since the ceremony was not legally binding. Courts have also ruled that the ministers have a First Amendment right to freely practice their religion.
If the tyrannical theocRATs who voted for the Discriminatory Offensive Marriage Attack (DOMA) believed that legislators don't have the power to authorize marriage equality, then they don't have the authority to deny the 1138 federal and states rights of marriage to millions of Americans.
There is really only one reason why marriage equality must be unconditional (along with the rest of the United States Constitution) - that's because we are Americans and that is immutable and unalienable. Only when we stop asking permission and start demanding what is rightfully ours - unconditional constitutional equality - will we stop believing we require the approval, acceptance, agreement, tolerance, understanding or respect from homobsesesd heterosupremacist tyrannical theocRATs in both political parties. It's time to change the paradigm.
Nazis forced lesbians to wear black triangles and Europeans murdered them, too.
When allied forces liberated the nazi death prisons, they arrested the gay men and lesbian survivors.
This fact should have also been included in the article.
