I will agree to disagree for now. But I feel that all of these issues tie into the main issue of this dicussion. I do not think that anything that changes puplic policy is as simple as yes or no. A case in point would be the abolishing of slavery with no plan of intergration into society. I think we can all agree that it would have been much better in the long run to do so.

Peter it is the involvement of these groups that concerns me. It raises suspicion as to the motives of the movement. I am very thorough when I research a topic and as such will investigate any and all aspects of that topic. In my findings I see evidence of the movement changing it's policies when it feels it is going to lose ground. That however doesn't mean they abandoned the original policies, just that they are changing tactics. It could indicate that they are going to take one step to get their foot in the door and use that ground to push on to another in a series of steps to reach another goal altogether. With post like Adams my concerns have merit.

Are you insane? Take a look at the statistics in relation to the cost of living increases over the years. Then you might understand that as the cost of living increased and both the husband and wife had to work to sustain the household that the divorces rates went up proportionately.
It sounds to me like you are advocating child labor laws be repealed. I will hope that I misunderstood your post.

There were two members of NAMBLA(I forget their names) who posted a pamphlet on the NAMBLA website that gave detailed instruction on how to stalk and abduct children for sexual purposes and avoid prosecution for these actions. Two other individuals(who's names I also cannot remember) used this information to do just that. The end result was the death of a nine year old boy. When authorities apprehended these individuals it was discovered through the course of the investigation that they had been in contact with the NAMBLA members during this time. When the family of the child in question learned of these facts they sought legal action against NAMBLA. Under the guise of "freedom of speech" the ALCU defended NAMBLA and they were found to be not liable for the actions of the perpetrators of the initial crime. In light of this, to say they are or could be an urban legend is misdirection as to the facts of their existence. There are many political powers that remain in the background preferring to remain anonymous to better seek their objectives more efficiently. Because of this I remain wary of the gay rights movement and their true motives. What I would like to see is those involved in the movement to be more aggresive in distancing themselves from groups such as these, including communist, socialist, and fascist groups who come out at gay pride events. If these are the kind of people that the movement is garnering support from it leaves serious doubt and concern as to the moral and ethical integrity of those leading the movement.

Peter, I appreciate your clear and precise answer to my question. The fact that you did so without using personal opinion gives your response merit as an opposition to my position. There is however, evidence that members of NAMBLA are still active in the mainstream gay rights movement. Whether they do so openly or not is irrelevant in my opinion. If you can shed some light on this please do so. This is all hear-say, which is questionable from my perspective.
