My kids know more about sustainable energy and food than most. Think of the money you could keep in your pocket if you provided your family it's own electricity and food.
Not only is it exciting for a child to watch a seed grow into something they can eat, but it teaches them an independence that is all too rare. This year we hope to harvest a pumpkin or 2 from our very own vine.
