I'm not a John. I have never paid for sex or solicited a prostitute.

I think name calling and religious arguments hurt this topic. I wish people didn't have to resort to that kind of behavior.

I'm not into the mind reading business. I was simply answering your question.

So far, my questions have not been answered and my words mocked. It's really unfortunate because I was looking to have a respectful, educated, fact laden discussion on this topic.

    Regards.

  • It's Time to End New York's Rockefeller Drug Laws

    Legalize all drugs.

I could care less if the Rockefeller laws "disproportionately" affected one group. The bottom line is these laws were a waste of money, liberty, were Draconian and didn't work..

    To your first hypothetical, yes.

Why do you keep saying degrade? Christ.

Why are you and Amanda putting quotation marks around my words?

I completely disagree with you. Legalization works. It works for alcohol. It works for marijuana and other soft-drugs(where legalized). It WILL work for prostitution.

It sounds like you find prostitution immoral and feel the need to keep it illegal.

Once again I cannot get an answer to the question. First, you mock the question with quotation marks on peaceful. Second, you add hypothetical variables. Third, you avoid it.

Heroin and sex is like comparing apples and oranges. Also, I'm for the legalization of heroin and other narcotics. And, I never said our failure to legalize prostitution has increased the amount of it.

Human trafficking and slavery are wrong. You and others who do not address an integral root cause of it shall be held accountable.

Are you opposed to prositution even when both parties are consenting and don't feel bad about it?

I've often asked the next question to many anti-prostion folks and have yet to get an answer that addresses the actual question: What about the millions of peaceful, non-violent, no-nonsense "transactions" that take place every year?

Prohibition causes dangerous situations. I'm sure no brewers are worried about having their operation raided by gangsters with sub-machine guns.

  • Do Teacher Unions Deserve the Bashing?
Erich commented on the article | almost 3 years ago

It would be more difficult with teachers than other professions. As you say, teachers don't pick their students and I am AGAINST test scores being the only factor, if a factor at all. I think in high school and college, the students could play a role. When I was in high school and college I could tell who was deserving of more and who, frankly, shouldn't be teaching.

I agree with your counterpoint. Seniority has its reasons and goods.

It would be difficult to determine individual wages, but I think we all can agree that bad teachers have got to go and one reason they are not going is because of unions and seniority.
