Would not to be "Punk" today and rebel against the norm to be conservative? for the last 40 years we have been rapidly traveling down the road of liberalsim and social justice (whatever that means) so would not to be rebelling against the system in todays society to be rebelling against liberalism and all it psuedo glory?
The bands you mentioned. The Pistols, The Dolls all rebelled against the Corporate conservative military government since conservatism is the out for the last 40 years and liberalsim is the in would it not stand that Punk should be anti-liberalism?
For although we have had two Bush's as "Republican" Presidents there has not been a conservative in office since Reagan. Not a real Conservative anyway. The vast majority of college kids and a lot of pre college kids are all Liberals not conservatives so to be anti-establishment today would mean you would have to be anti liberalism as every fool and their sister has a "Bush Lied" T shirt or sticker.

Martin commented on the article |No one is going like this but too damn bad. Maybe JUST maybe if we did not become a nation of social workers and touchy feely fools over the last 40 years then our military would be able to do their job without wanting to off themselves.
War is WAR, it's not a game, it's not for kids or people bothered by the sight of blood. The Army has ONE purpose to KILL the enemy in as great of numbers as necessary to make them want to fight no more. They are not there to hang curtains or plant flowers. The last thing a soldier needs is Sensitivity training.
Like I said I know people dont want to hear this but until the world becomes utopia and people stop flying planes into buildings then we need our military to be killers not interior decorators. Todays Army could never fight another Iwo Jima, we do not have the intestinal fortitude necessary for it and that comes from 40 years of social workers, and pseudo intellectuals telling us we need to hug.

Martin commented on the article |Like he cares that he was sued. Something that gets overlooked is there are no debt prisons here. A judgement is useless if people have no money or assets. Not for nothing but he is probably laughing his head off at the ACLU, the SPLC, and the court system for making them waste donations and court time.
He opened his mouth and his target made everyone take notice. His group probably grew 10 fold in new memberships and next time it will not be words that are hurled.

Your kidding me right? We have one of the worst education systems in the world behind nations like Iran and your worried about coal or sex ed? I took all 3 of my children out of the public school system this year because of this type of non sense. At least now I know they are getting a real education, learning Science, Advanced Math, English, and Computer Science. instead of Social Sciences, Humanities, and other subjects that should be an elective course and not a requirement.
Before there are any idiotic comments from "public school teachers" My children took every state required and school issued test consistently achieving a better average than the children in the 3 local middle schools.
Maybe you should be a little more concerned on teaching our children HOW to think instead of WHAT to think. If the children are taught how to analyze and research an issue then they would be able to make an informed decision. Take for instance the “Condoms cause cancer” mentioned above. If they were allowed to research it they would find that the petrochemical used in the production process of some condoms is a known carcinogen and would be free to chose another TYPE of condom if they chose to instead of both sides lying to further their cause.
I know it's not in the best interest of the Public School System to have children and parents think for themselves, make decisions for themselves which is why our school system is as screwed up as it is producing some of the most uneducated high school graduates on the planet.
Did anyone ever wonder WHY people like the Obama's and the Edwards along with anyone who can try to afford it send their kids to private schools or better yet home school their children? It's not because of the fear of violence or drugs, it's because they want their kids to have an actual education

Martin commented on the article |I remember watching CNN and Al-Jezera on Sept 11th. I remember seeing a very, very , large portion of the middle east cheering at the death of thousands of innocent Americans who's only crimes were living in America and going to work to feed their families. I also remember watching since the late 70's tens of thousands of Muslims chanting "Death to America" and burning American Flags on a daily basis. Which by the way is still going on despite the election of Obama. What I do not see is tens of thousands of Americans chanting "Death to Islam" or the kidnapping and beheading of Muslims "to make a point" The truth of the matter is as long as America in not a Muslim Nation there will always be the hatred of America by the Muslim world. As long as America allows freedom of Religion we will be hated. I wonder what the reaction would be if American Citizens decided to treat Muslims the way Muslims treat Americans. If a writer or journalist say's anything derogatory about Islam, Allah, or Muhammed, the entire Muslim world demands blood, Demands an apology or threatens to kill the person and their family (Salmon Rushdie ring any bells) or that cartoon that made recent headlines. Yet America (The Great Satan) does not do things like that. Go Figure? As an American Citizen I can say that I, along with the vast majority of the people I know are beyond tired of this double standard. Maybe a few years of Americans treating Muslims the exact same way they treat us would bring true equality and understanding. And I don't want to hear that America has done all these evil horrible things to the Middle East. We have sent 10's of trillions of dollars to the middle east in Oil purchases alone combined with what the rest of the world pays to the middle east for Oil there should not be one person living in poverty yet the majority do. Maybe you should check with your leaders who live in golden palaces and stop blaming the US. Also keep in mind that Obama speaks for the people who voted for him which in reality is less than 20% of the United States Population and with his comments about Israel during that speech he's down to maybe 15%
