I am a retired high school English teacher who has been engaged in community organizing activities since I was in the 10th grade. Now that I have more time, I am able to do much more. Recently, I started up a CommunityOrganize group that now calls itself "Hill Street Voices for Change." I am concerned with all issues and wish to know more about how to participate in creating the changes that I want.

Gregg commented on the petition |All children are children with special needs. Nothing justifies treating a child as the subject of an experiment unless the child and family give informed consent. And, even then, such treatment as this goes beyond what is acceptable. It must be investigated thoroughly and stopped until such investigation has been completed. Then, I have to imagine it will be stopped for good.

Instead of a parking lot St. John's has created a parking glut. I urge City Council not to sanction unethical behavior. Forcing poor people in wheelchairs to park blocks away from the hospital whose mission it is to serve them is unethical. Sanctioning that behavior on behalf of the citizens of Santa Monica is unethical, as well. Don't do it!
